Is ConvertKit Easy to Use on My Squarespace Website?

If you have a Squarespace website, then you know that Squarespace offers email campaigns.

You may have even tried it out! And if so, you’ve probably already determined that it’s…well…clunky.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Squarespace for so many reasons! But when it comes to email campaigns, I’m afraid they still have a long way to go to catch up with the high flyers.

In my opinion, why use Squarespace for email campaigns when it’s not their area of expertise? You don’t go to your general dentist for a root canal, even though your dentist is trained to perform one. You go to a specialist (called an endodontist btw) because it’s all they do, all the time, every day!

This is how I view Email Service Providers (ESP)—they are “specialists” when it comes to email campaigns, sequences, templates, and basically all things email marketing.

And my absolute favorite ESP is ConvertKit.

And ConvertKit is cheaper than Squarespace email campaigns to boot! You can have a free account for up to 300 subscribers! There are some limitations in functionality, but it’s great when you’re just getting started.

My 3 Favorite Things About ConvertKit

1. Ease of Use

ConvertKit is really easy to use and figure out. They’ve thought of everything. Their tutorials are excellent and easy to follow, and they give a lot of examples to help you grasp the lessons.

They are SO good that whenever you go to do something for the first time, like start a sequence for example, when you head into that particular module, there’s a tutorial sitting there just waiting to be watched.

2. Customer Service

ConvertKit’s customer service is on par with that of Squarespace. They have a live chat feature that you can activate at any time and an actual human being will answer you.

Their follow-through is incredible. Once a “ticket,” or query, has been opened, they will not close it until they are certain they have solved your problem.

And if you fail to follow up with them, they will follow up with you! I love it!

3. ConvertKit Community

ConvertKit has an online community forum where you can connect with other creators, ask questions, troubleshoot issues, and just get creative.

It’s basically there to help you find answers to any ConvertKit-related questions, but also to offer your help and support to others.

How to Create and Embed an Inline ConvertKit Form into Your Squarespace Website

I’ll admit, when it comes to all the things ConvertKit can do, I have barely scratched the surface.

As I learn more functionality and design tips I will continue to add them to my blog.

If there is anything, in particular, you’d like to learn more about, drop it in the comments ↓.

In the meantime, I’ve created a very organic tutorial that shows you how to create, customize, and embed a simple ConvertKit inline form into your Squarespace website.

Some important considerations you’ll learn in this video are:

  1. Never use “subscribe” on your button.

  2. Why you want to tag subscribers when they subscribe to a form.

  3. When to embed a form and when to use a URL link to the form.

Among many other helpful tips.

If you view it on YouTube, you’ll be able to jump to different sections of the video with the helpful time stamps I’ve included in the description.

And if you scroll down ↓ you’ll see the form that I created in this video embedded in this blog post :-).
