Get More Traffic to Your Squarespace Website by Blogging

3 Reasons Why Blogging is the Best Way to Get More Traffic to Your Squarespace Website

If you’re like most Squarespace users, you struggle to get more traffic to your Squarespace website.

In fact, 85% of Squarespace websites get zero website traffic.

This is one reason why there’s a nasty rumor going around that Squarespace is bad for SEO.

The truth? Most Squarespace users aren’t using a strategy to attract and engage their ideal clients, nor are they using the tools available to them to optimize their Squarespace websites for SEO, like the SEOSpace plugin.

Friend, it doesn’t matter how great your website is if no one sees it.

If you want to get more organic traffic to your Squarespace website, you NEED to be blogging.

In this post, I outline 3 reasons why blogging is the way to drive traffic to your Squarespace website.

1. Get Google to Rank You

Blogging isn’t just for your target audience, it’s for Google.

When someone types a search query into Google, whether they’re looking for information, conducting research, or ready to make a purchase, Google scours the web for authority websites it trusts that align with the search query and will direct the user toward what they are searching for.

How do you establish authority and build trust with Google?

By regularly adding valuable content to your website that your target audience is searching for and establishes you as an authority at what you do…by BLOGGING!

Google is not going to choose websites for search queries that get zero visits. You’ll be lucky if your website even shows up when your specific business name is typed into Google’s search field. Go ahead, try it. I’ll wait…

Suppose your business shows up at all in search results. In that case, your social media pages will likely rank higher than your actual website because you’re probably more focused on social media than driving traffic to your website.

Incidentally, you own your website, but you do not own your social media accounts and they can (and do) get shut down at any old time for any old reason.

2. Give People a Reason to Go to Your Website

If the only thing a person can do on your website is learn about your business, you’re going to get a grand total of zero website visitors.

Including at least one lead generator that offers your target audience a great deal of value for free in exchange for their email address is a necessity, but you need a way to get visitors to your website in the first place, and you do this through your blog.

Your blog addresses your target audience’s pain points and helps them solve a problem, giving them a reason to visit your website. Then offer your audience a really great lead generator that will help them even MORE, capture their email address, and turn them into leads—one step closer to an actual sale.

Even though it may be a while before you start to show up in Google search results (blogging is a long-term marketing strategy), you can share your blog content in many ways: On social media, in forums, by guest blogging, in newsletters, and in any groups you belong to where your target audience is hanging out.

Wherever your traffic comes from, it’s still traffic, so getting people to click through to your website to read that blog post helps improve SEO and establish you as a trusted authority with Google.

3. Blogging Builds Authority and Brand Awareness

Regularly publishing informative blog posts that address your target audience’s pain points and help them solve a problem establishes your brand as an authority in your niche. Over time, this builds trust with your audience, making them more likely to return to your site for more help and advice.

Each blog post increases your online footprint, making it more likely for your brand to be discovered. By covering the topics that align with what you offer, you’ll attract your target audience and increase your brand's visibility and website traffic from people who are actually interested.
